Sponsorship concept
The World Stamp Exhibition HELVETIA from 18-22 May 2022 in Lugano recently took an important hurdle with the signing of the agreement between our Federation and the FIP.
The exhibition celebrates the anniversary of the 1862 Sitting Helvetia issue. Furthermore, it may be noted that for almost 50 years NO World Exhibition has been held in Switzerland. So is it time to set up a memorial once again? No, it is rather a possibility to offer foreign guests as well as Swiss exhibitors and visitors once again a platform to show their collections built up over years and to experience top-level philately at first hand! The financing is primarily based on the contributions from the three supporters, the “Foundation for the Development of Philately”, the “Federation of Swiss Philatelic Societies” and the group of four main sponsors. These contributions are assured; nevertheless, the aim is to find more modest co-sponsors, societies or sympathisers who are also prepared to make a sponsorship contribution.

If HELVETIA2022 cannot take place, the sponsors’ contributions will be refunded. The Swiss Post issued a first stamp series last autumn to announce the event. There will naturally be another issue for the exhibition itself!
